FPE Stab-Lok Panel Replacement & Garage Subpanel Installation in Sacramento, CA
On a 1935 home, we upgraded the electrical system to support future solar and EV charging. We removed a hazardous FPE Stab-Lok main panel and eliminated an unsafe overhead garage feed hanging about 6.5 feet above the driveway.
Day one: we ran new conduit, trenched to the garage, and installed a new main panel plus a subpanel for the charger, inspection-ready by end of day. After inspection, we returned to route new wiring, install breakers, and add garage outlets and the EV charging circuit. The project was fully operational in two working days with clean, code-compliant workmanship.

I cannot recommend Electric Connection, the owner John and his assistant R.J. enough! We bought our new home (built in 1935) earlier this year and it was immediately apparent that we were going to need all new electrical to make the home our own - we have solar panels to install and a Chevy Volt hybrid. The house came with an old FPE Stablok Panel which was never going to work - seriously Google those panels, they are responsible for fires and deaths and are out of business for a reason - and had electrical wiring "draping" overhead from the house to the garage about 6.5 feet off the ground. You could easily reach up and electrocute yourself, or walk through the driveway with, say a ladder and electrocute yourself. So we contacted E.C. and John was super friendly and professional, taking the time to explain everything he needed to do and why he needed to do it. On the day he showed up, I expected they might, maaaaybe get a few things done...but was surprised when after a day's work they had completely run all new conduit, trenched for the new sub panel in our garage (for the new car charger) installed the main and sub panel....seriously far more work than I thought they would get done. It was ready for inspection day one. After inspection they came back out and in one more day routed all the new wiring and installed the breakers and the house, new garage outlets and car charger were fully operational. And not only was it done but it was done exceptionally well. Take a look at the pics.
